A court in Spain has refused to extradite Hugo Carvajal to the U.S. Carvajal is wanted in connection to drug trafficking by the DEA, and argues that charges against him are "fabricated". Let's take a couple of steps back. This site has information that -as early as February 2001- Hugo Chavez was made aware of presence of narcoterrorist groups in Venezuela.
Former chavista intelligence chief Hugo Carvajal -travelling as Adolfo Jose Mourinho- was arrested yesterday in Madrid. Spanish sources report Carvajal had arrived in Spain (from the Dominican Republic) back in March. Sources familiar with Carvajal's arrest report that while his identity was fake the Venezuelan passport used was legitimate. Spain had been informed of an international arrest warrant (drug trafficking) pending on Carvajal in September 2018.
The BBC reported it as "Police at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport have seized 1.3 tonnes of pure cocaine on board an Air France flight from Venezuela, French officials say." For Venezuela observers this is nothing new. What's surprising about it, is how Venezuela's "CSIRT" is trying to block information about those believed to be responsible. See below.
